About the Role

The ideal candidate possesses leadership experience, a solid operational and technical accounting background, and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter who works well in a collaborative environment and has a high level of integrity to maintain accountability within the department.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage and reconcile General Ledger and Subledger, including A/P, A/R, and Inventory.
  • Perform month-end close activities, such as journal entries, revenue recognition, cost of goods sold, accruals, expense allocations, and analysis.
  • Handle intercompany reconciliations.
  • Process payroll and expense report reimbursements.
  • Reconcile the Monthly Balance Sheet and perform daily bank account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual filings (e.g., GST, Payroll BAS, IAS).
  • Conduct weekly check-ins with the Corporate Controller.
  • Support projects, including the implementation of NetSuite and other systems.
  • Undertake ad hoc and other assigned projects.

Skills & Experience

  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Significant hands-on experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, and SOS.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory, and cost accounting.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Extraordinary interpersonal skills to collaborate with other departments.
  • Team player who also works well independently.
  • Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations.

Ideal candidates will also have:

  • BS or MS degree in Accounting/Finance or similar.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant.
  • Minimum of 5+ years proven experience with GAAP and relevant accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SOS).
